Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets: They Promise Work, Assistance or Housing — But Take Away Lives
In the first half of 2025, 112 Ukrainian citizens were granted the status of victims of human trafficking. Among them were 88 men, 17 women, and 7 children.
Criminals operate through deception, blackmail, threats, or violence, or by taking advantage of a person’s vulnerable state. They may offer ‘easy money’ or ‘help with housing,’ but in return, they take away your right to control your own life.
Remember: real help never takes away your documents, freedom or right to make decisions for yourself.
