Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service: Up to 180 thousand Prisoners were Attracted by Russia for the War Against Ukraine
From 140 to 180 thousand prisoners were attracted by Russia for the war against Ukraine.
As of November 2024, the Russian Federation has attracted between 140,000 and 180,000 people serving time for crimes in Russian prisons to participate in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In total, there were about 300,000-350,000 prisoners in Russian colonies and prisons by 2024. This is half as much as in 2014. The reason for the decrease is the Russian-Ukrainian war of the Russian Federation to participate in the war against Ukraine.
